How MoveIt Works
Move your ChatGPT or Gemini history into Claude in four steps: export, upload, analyze, and set up your Claude projects.
Step 1: Export your chat history
From ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT and go to Settings, Data Controls, and Export data.
- Confirm the export and download the ZIP file from the email.
You can also request your data through the OpenAI Privacy Portal.
From Gemini
- Go to Google Takeout and select My Activity.
- Choose Gemini Apps, create the export, and download the ZIP.
Step 2: Upload your export
Drag the downloaded ZIP straight onto the upload area. You can also upload ChatGPT conversations.json or Gemini MyActivity.json and MyActivity.html directly.
Files up to 500MB are supported, and large files are compressed in your browser before uploading.
Step 3: Pay and run the analysis
Generating your profile is a one-time $10 payment via Stripe. Claude then writes a cognitive profile describing how you think, communicate, and work.
Step 4: Extract your projects
MoveIt identifies projects across your chats and creates a markdown briefing for each project's goals, tech stack, key decisions, and next steps.
Using the project ZIP in Claude
- Download and unzip the project files.
- Open Claude and create a Project.
- Upload the matching markdown briefing to the project's Knowledge section.
Troubleshooting
No activity file found in this ZIP
Make sure your Google Takeout export includes Gemini Apps activity under My Activity.
Upload is slow
Large exports are compressed in your browser first, so give the upload a moment.
